Zevtron Software Capabilities – Evaluation and Differentiation

Zevtron’s white-label EV charging software represents a significant upgrade from the closed legacy network platforms being replaced under this program. The system is OCPP compliant, enabling seamless operation with a wide range of AC and DC chargers and ensuring future-proof compatibility.

A key strength of the Zevtron platform is its multi-credential integration, allowing users to authenticate and pay using existing systems such as building access cards, parking credentials, student or staff IDs, and mobile credentials from third-party apps. This eliminates the need for standalone EV accounts and improves adoption within established parking or property management ecosystems.

The software offers user group pricing and management, giving operators and owners the ability to define rates by customer type (transient, monthly, staff, fleet, or event-based) and to schedule time-of-day or demand-based pricing. Load balancing and energy management features optimize the available electrical capacity across chargers while maintaining charging efficiency and protecting infrastructure from overload.

From a business operations perspective, Zevtron’s integrated payment gateway (via NMI) supports full PCI compliance, while allowing local merchant IDs for site-specific revenue flow. Advanced reporting tools provide detailed transaction, utilization, and energy data to support billing, energy analysis, and performance tracking.

In contrast to legacy network providers, Zevtron’s software enables full brand ownership—customers retain their logo, color scheme, and identity within the driver interface. This white-label flexibility combined with open-protocol architecture eliminates vendor lock-in and allows long-term scalability.

Software Summary – Strengths:

  • Full OCPP compliance and hardware agnostic
  • Multi-credential integration with third-party databases
  • User group pricing, idle fees, and user group management
  • Real-time dashboard with advanced energy and transaction reporting
  • Full PCI-compliant payment integration with flexible revenue routing
  • White-label driver interface for brand consistency
  • 5-year support for partner and driver services

AC Level 2 Charger – Technical Attributes and Replacement Advantages

The recommended replacement unit for the Rip & Replace program is a commercial-grade, single-port 7.7 kW to 11.5 kW (32 A–48 A) AC Level 2 charger, designed for reliability, interoperability, and reduced maintenance compared to first-generation networked chargers.

Each unit supports OCPP 1.6J or higher, ensuring native compatibility with the Zevtron software platform. The charger is available in a wall-mount configurations and is equipped with J1772 or NACS connectors.

Key design features include field-replaceable charger, NEMA 3R outdoor rating, and integrated load management that allows the chargers to dynamically share power.  The system’s internal power modules are UL and Energy Star certified, delivering high efficiency and safety compliance.

Installation requires a circuit sized at 125% of the charger’s rated current per NEC 625.41—for example, a 32 A charger requires a 40 A breaker. Network connectivity includes LTE, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi, ensuring robust uptime and simplified remote updates.

Charger Summary – Key Attributes:

  • Single-port Level 2 (7.7 kW–11.5 kW per port)
  • OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 compliant and Zevtron software certified
  • Wall-mounted configuration
  • NEMA 3R outdoor rated, UL listed, Energy Star certified
  • Integrated dynamic load sharing
  • Field-replaceable components and firmware upgradable
  • 5-year parts warranty (labor excluded)
  • Cellular or hardwired network connectivity

Conclusion:

The combination of Zevtron’s open, data-driven software and robust AC L2 hardware provides a sustainable, future-proof alternative to aging networked chargers. The platform delivers both immediate improvements in functionality and long-term operational savings through flexible pricing, integrated credentials, and simplified maintenance—creating a compelling business case for sites participating in the Rip & Replace program.

Replace legacy chargers. Unlock new revenue. Power the future.
